BCS's Amur leopards Xizi and Hogar were featured on the BBC1 South Easts news programme, highlighting the work involved in trying to successfully breed the pair to support the Amur leopard release programme.

Two clouded leopards at The Big Cat Sanctuary, these cats are normally a very shy speices in captivity but ben and mandalay are far from that, very confident playing with people who are in and around their enclosure.

This video shows our Amur Leopard mum, Xizi, with her 19 week old cubs, being inquisitive with new items in their enclosure to challenge them in their play! In this video, you can see them playing in and around a cut down tree (from another enclosure) and a long piece of tree bark...so they are doing their own bit of recycling! Obviously mum, Xizi, had to check all the new items out, with her cubs, to make sure it was all safe...and suitable to play chase games!

This video shows our very proud Amur Tiger mum, Ronja, with her three 19-week old cubs. The girls had an exciting day watching their pool being filled up with water. Just like any kids who see hose pipes and a pool; you have to make sure everyone involved gets very, very wet! After a slow start at their investigations of this cold, wet water, which proved too much for their curiosity to ignore, they very soon were happily getting as wet as they could, splashing as much water over as big an area as they could reach...and then going to give mum, Ronja, a big hug!
